Watford vs Chelsea

Claudio Ranieri’s six Premier League matches in charge of Watford have seen 25 goals scored (11 for and 14 against), the most in a manager’s first six matches in charge of a club since Frank Lampard at Chelsea (also 25). Watford hasn’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last 23 EPL matches and they aren’t going to keep one here, although they’ll fancy their chances of getting on the score sheet themselves, through the in-form Josh King, who has five goals in their last five outings.

Southampton vs Leicester

Plenty of water has flown under the bridge since Southampton’s humiliating record-breaking 0-9 hammering at the hands of Leicester in the corresponding fixture back in October 2019. The three most recent EPL head-to-heads have all featured under 2.5 goals with last season’s corresponding fixture ending 1-1. It wouldn’t be a big surprise to see something similar play out this time.

Everton vs Liverpool

It’s the world-renowned Merseyside Derby pitting fierce foes Everton and Liverpool against one another. The Toffees are actually unbeaten in their last three Premier League meetings with the old enemy. However, Rafa Benítez’s side has picked up just a single point from their last three top-flight matches at Goodison, scoring in just one of those games. The last two EPL editions of the Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park have ended all square, but Liverpool should have more than enough to get a precious three points on enemy turf here.

Aston Villa vs Man City

Champions Manchester City arriving at Villa Park certainly won’t be a pleasant sight for Villa boss Steven Gerrard, with Villa having lost 13 of their last 14 clashes against any reigning EPL champions. They’ve also conceded 39 times in their last 14 against City. Manchester City has won each of their last 15 Premier League matches played on a Wednesday, scoring 36 goals and conceding just six. They should end Gerrard’s winning start here.
