Chelsea FC left-back Ben Chilwell is set to miss the remainder of the season as he requires surgery.
The defender is said to have suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Juventus in the Champions League in November but the club originally appeared to decide against any operation to repair the damage.
Goal now reports that the club has decided to send the player for surgery which is likely to rule him out for the remainder of the current campaign.
Ben Chilwell needs surgery on his ACL injury – meaning he will officially be out for the rest of the season…

With Marcos Alonso only the natural left back left in the team, there have been reports that the Blues might go for Everton’s Lucas Digne with the player wanting out of Goodison Park after falling out with the manager Rafa Benitez.
Everton however wants to offload the player on a loan deal to grant him his wishes of being in shape ahead of the 2022 World Cup in the summer.
